2025 High School XC Season

Recap

Men's Team

Seniors: Andrew Oaks, Chase Parsons, Tyler Shoemaker

Juniors: Colin Hinkelman

Sophomores: None

Freshmen: Grant Hinkelman, Finn Hinkelman


The team was again led by Colin Hinkelman as the low man throughout the year. Freshman Grant Hinkelman was the second man and Andrew Oaks was the seasons 3rd man for the majority of the races, with Finn Hinkelman and Chase Parsons rounding out the top 5. With so few athletes, the team did very well to have as much success as they had without injury.


The team finished the season with wins at the Miami County meet (the second all time and first for Milton since 2002), Meredith Mile and the TRC league meet (3rd in row). The team finished 6th at Districts, and 6th at Regionals, one place away from making State.


Colin Hinkelman broke his own school record in a time of 16:05 at the Miami County meet and won the Lost Creek Invitational, Buccaneer Invite, Miami County Meet (2x champion), Milton Mile (2x champion), and TRC Championships (2x champion). He also qualified for the State Meet by finishing 12th at Regionals (16:11.2) along with Grant Hinkelman (18th - 16:32).


At the State meeting Colin finished 27th place (16:08.76) getting All-State Second Team and Grant finished 93rd in a time of 16:55.38.


Women's Team

Seniors: Jessa Lightner, Alaina Manning

Juniors: Sydnie Barlett

Sophomores: Aubree Bates, Madlyn Korte, Lola Taylor, Amelia Iddings

Freshmen: None


The team was led by Aubree Bates with Sydnie Barlett, Madyln Korte, and Amilia Iddings trading 2-4 spots throughout the year. The top five was rounded out with Alaina Manning having a great senior season.


The team finished the season with a win at the Milton Mile and a runner up finish at the TRC Championships. They also qualified to regionals for the first time in many years. The team fought injury all year with multiple runners out or injured for races.


Aubree Bates won the Milton 2-Mile, was the league runner-up and raced competitively in many races during the season including finishing 39th at regionals.
